Driven For You has an opportunity for a Logistics Manager with experience and a ‘hands on approach’ to join a dynamic team in the Wakefield area.

The role of Logistics Manager will involve the efficient planning of our growing driver base whilst providing first class customer service. 

Driven For You Ltd deliver vehicles nationwide via a team of employed drivers who physically drive the vehicles to destination. We are soon to be expanding into single vehicle, trailered transported movements.

Salary will be based on experience and ability to ‘hit the ground running’.

Logistics Manager Position Overview

  • Effective planning and utilisation of all drivers

  • Journey planning and routing for client vehicles

  • Dealing with queries by telephone and email from customers

  • Reporting problems and dealing with any issues / queries that may arise

  • Ensuring all paperwork is actioned and completed promptly

  • Understanding the planning system – computer based

  • Liaising with other internal departments and team members

  • Take part in Driver Induction days

  • A Transport Managers qualification or willingness to qualify would be essential.

 

Logistics Manager Person Specification

  • Good geographical knowledge of the UK and road network is essential

  • Previous transport experience in a busy and demanding environment would be useful

  • Be able to work effectively in a close team

  • Can demonstrate problem solving, analytical and organisation skills

  • Able to make decisions under pressure

  • Ability to thrive in a demanding and fast-paced environment

  • Be able to communicate well at all levels

  • Be highly motivated

  • Must.be fully PC literate

  • Must be flexible in approach to work and be adaptable to meet business demands

  • Good time management skills are essential

  • High levels of focus, energy and drive

 

The successful applicant must have great attention to detail with excellent coordination and communication skills. Experience in a similar role would be an advantage.
